The Phillips team (Gibson, J. Phillips, Kenny, P. Phillips) defeated the Hill team (P. Bailey, L. Bailey, Jacobs, Hill) in the final of the Mixed Fours Championship. In the semifinals each team had beaten more favoured teams (Hughes and Prowse respectively) and so had done well to reach the final. With both Phillips playing outstanding bowls, they were always in control winning 22/13 in a good  match.
