Sue O'Toole today won the final of the Ogden Shield in a hard fought match 3 sets to 1 against Paul Rafton. Paul won the first set 7/5 but Sue fought back to take the next three sets in the last competition to be completed for the 2011 season.

Tugun's entry in the Ladies Teams Challenge has carried off the prize after the finals were completed at Indoorooopilly. The competition is aimed at working girls and was played on Saturday mornings. Tugun's team of two pairs, called the Sex Pistols (well, what else are you going to call them??!!!) comprised Sue O'Toole, Annie Tough, Cam Maunsell and Lyn Baker, with Kerryanne Moroney as reserve and took out the cash and jackets first prize.

 

The Phillips team (Gibson, J. Phillips, Kenny, P. Phillips) defeated the Hill team (P. Bailey, L. Bailey, Jacobs, Hill) in the final of the Mixed Fours Championship. In the semifinals each team had beaten more favoured teams (Hughes and Prowse respectively) and so had done well to reach the final. With both Phillips playing outstanding bowls, they were always in control winning 22/13 in a good  match.

On Friday 11th November, Gold District District women defeated Northern Rivers 344 shots to 247 at Ballina Sport and Recreation Club. Tugun girls (see below) Annie Tough, Sue O'Toole and Luchica Muggeridge were part of the Gold Coast team. Great job!!

The Men's Twilight competition is underway. Results can be followed on this website under "Competitions".

In the new year, the Club will be competing in three interclub competitions - the Tweed Valley Shield starting 16th January, Superchallenge (Silver for the Men and Ladies, and Bronze for the Ladies only) and the Midweek Pennant starting in February.
